To deepen my theoretical and methodological knowledge, I began my doctoral studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Germany, in the winter semester of 2021. I am enrolled in the Institute for Communication Science and Media Research (IfKW) as external Doctoral Candidates, where I examine the collaboration between scientists and journalists in shaping public understanding and policy responses during health crises. This doctoral project is a culmination of over a decade of academic and professional experience—a sustained effort to bridge science, media, and policy in the context of the Global South.
My (external) doctoral research is supervised by Thomas Hanitzsch, a professor of communication and scholar known for his work on journalism studies at LMU Munich. He former President of the International Communication Association/ICA (Elected 2024-2025). My second supervisor is Constanze Rossmann, whose research focuses on health communication and media effects. These two professors continue to provide the intellectual foundation for my research dissertation project at Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich.
I aim to develop more robust frameworks for science communication that can effectively bridge the gap between academic research and practical policy implementation. Through my work, I strive to enhance how scientific evidence is communicated and utilized in public health decision-making processes.
